1825 N-9 R2 PCGS graded MS65 BrownLustrous steel brown, light chocolate, and golden tan with faded mint color showing in protected areas on both sides. The left side of the reverse is a couple shades darker than the right side. Flawless except for faint traces of an old fingerprint around star 3, a tiny speck of crud under star 8, and a few microscopic ticks under the right side of the N in CENT. M-LDS, die state c early, with an extremely faint die crack arcing from the field above star 3 to the brow lock. Sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars. The fields are hard and very slightly reflective. A beautiful cent. Called MS65 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS63 and tied for CC#3, his photo #21821. Our grade is MS64.Certificate Number: 36805.65/25134748Pedigree: Ex William Festus Morgan (who purchased this cent prior to 1923), J. C. Morgenthau & Co. 6/16/1932:215-B.
