Lustrous tan and light steel brown with traces of mint red showing on the obverse and 10% of the reverse retaining bright mint color. Sharply struck with bold radial lines in all the stars. A choice cent if not for a diagonal nick in the field close off the end of the chin and a fine scratch right of the D in UNITED. MDS. The dies have been lapped to remove flowlines and fine die rust, and the fields are smooth. The repunching on the T in CENT remains sharp. This cent has excellent eye appeal. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #35655. Bland says MS60 and tied for CC#5. Our grade is MS60+. Comes with an impressive provenance. The attribution and Starr-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
