Lustrous light olive and medium brown with underlying mellowed mint red in the field before the portrait. The portrait is sharply struck and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Just a few trivial marks including some tiny spots of slightly darker brown toning (not carbon) at stars 3-4, faint traces of a fingerprint in the field under the hair bun, and a barely visible planchet flake on the cheek right of the mouth. M-LDS. The arc line between the bases of the S in STATES and the adjacent O in OF is gone and the fields are flowlined. The fine die cracks on the obverse are clear and die clashmarks show on both sides. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#3 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #35725. Our grade is MS60+. A very nice 1824 cent. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
