Very attractive frosty light steel brown with darker steel brown and chocolate toning on the highpoints. Mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. No significant marks, just very light friction on the highpoints. A tiny spot of darker toning right of the lower half of the hair bun can help identify this cent. EDS. The fields are very smooth and the inner circle on the obverse is sharp. In addition there is a remnant of another numeral at the top of the 2 in the date, a feature not mentioned in the Wright or Noyes references, probably because it is visible only in this very early die state. Our grade is AU50+. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
