Frosty dark olive brown and steel with traces of lighter reddish brown in protected areas. A very sharp cent that does not appear to have any wear, but the highpoints on both sides show microscopic roughness suggesting the cent may have been stored touching reactive surfaces. In addition there is a patch of roughness on the right side of star 3 and a small planchet flake at the lower right point of star 2 (as struck). Otherwise free of marks and the eye appeal is quite nice. Sharply struck EDS, Grellman state a, with a sharp inner circle at the dentil tips from star 13 clockwise to star 8. Strike doubling shows at TATES OF AM. Our grade is net AU50. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
