Highly lustrous light olive and bluish steel with generous traces of mint red showing on both sides. The surfaces are satiny and the only marks are a spot of reddish brown toning at the top of star 13, a smaller one at the top of the 8, and a couple faint ticks in the field right of star 4. Nicely struck E-MDS with lightly flowlined fields and an uncracked obverse. In addition there is a fine double profile on the lips, stars 1-4, the ear, BERTY, and the date (from die bounce or "machine doubling"). Graded MS63 and tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census, his photo #21158. Our grade is MS63+. A beautiful cent and it comes with a rare provenance. The attribution and Andre Dawson (Cubs and Montreal Expos All Star baseball player and Hall of Fame Member) provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
