1822 N-3 R2 PCGS graded MS63 BrownGlossy steel brown and light chocolate with frosty mint luster covering the fields and protected areas. The only marks are small spot of reddish brown toning under the first T in STATES and a tiny planchet crack at the dentils right of star 11. This crack passes all the way through the planchet to the dentils at the opposing R in AMERICA, as struck. Rare early die state, state b early, with a small but clear lump high between the feet of the T & A in STATES (from minor die rust that is scattered over both sides). The die crack connecting the bases of ERICA is present but light and the fields are very slightly reflective. The dies were soon lapped to eliminate the fine rust as the vast majority of the variety are missing the TA lump and have a stronger die crack at ERICA. Called MS60 and tied for CC#2 in the Noyes census, his photo #35417. Bland says MS60 and tied for CC#3. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
