Lustrous light brown with slightly darker steel brown on the highpoints and peeps of faded mint red showing on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and the only marks are two small planchet flakes (not contact marks) at the lower right point of star 1, another close under star 4, and a spot of very fine dark reddish carbon on the tip of the bust. Otherwise this cent is choice and the reverse is flawless. E-MDS. There is a fine die crack through the bases of MERICA to the stem end (as always) but there is no trace of die rust. Graded MS60 net AU55 and tied for CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #27250. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
