1822 N-14 R6+ PCGS Good Detail Gouged

Sharpness G6 but covered with microscopic roughness and pits. No verdigris and the only notable contact mark is a dull scratch or scrape across ONE. The date is bold and the legends are complete except for weakness on ONE CENT. Slightly glossy olive brown and steel with lighter brown and steel toning on the devices. This is the rarest business strike variety in the Middle Date Cent series (1816-1839), and the finest example grades only F12. Only 11 examples are known, and most of those are in very low grade. Our grade is G6 sharpness net AG3. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
