1822 N-11 R2 PCGS graded MS64 BrownLustrous reddish steel brown with overtones of light rose and bluish steel. Mellowed mint red covers the protected areas on both sides and the eye appeal of this piece is outstanding. The only marks are a faint spot of darker toning at the peak of the 1 in the date and a pair of tiny nick-like planchet voids on the cheek right of the nostril (as struck). EDS, state a, with a fine but sharp inner circle from star 1 to star 7. The strike is needle sharp except for the radial lines in some of the lower stars, and the fields are void of flowlines. A beautiful cent. Called MS65+ and finest known in the Bland census. Noyes says MS63 and CC#1, his photo #21514. Our grade is MS64.Certificate Number: 36742.64/25134946Pedigree: Ex Abner Kreisberg 8/1955-R. E. "Ted" Naftzger, Jr.-Naftzger Estate, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/1/2009:136-Terry S.
