1820 N-8 R3 Small Date, PCGS graded MS64 BrownChoice lustrous light olive and tan with faded mint red covering the protected areas on both sides. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has great eye appeal. The only defects are a few light ticks in the field right of star 3, a speck of dark toning at the upper point of star r, and a very light rim bruise over the O in OF. MDS, die state b, with microscopic radial die flowlines in the fields, and the inner circle at the dentils over stars 5-7 is dull but visible. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#1 with one other piece in the Noyes census, his photo #27478. Bland says MS63 and finest known of the confirmed examples in his census. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
