Frosty medium steel brown and olive with peeps of mellowed mint red showing in some of the protected areas, particularly on the obverse. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks are three tiny, dull pinpricks on the neck, and you need a glass to see them. MDS with a fine die crack reaching from the bottom of the bust tip towards the right point of star 1. Graded MS62 and CC#1 in the Noyes census (the only mint state example in his census), his photo #27426. Bland says MS60 and finest known of the die variety. Our grade is MS60. A very important cent that comes with an impressive provenance. The attribution and Helfenstein-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
