Lustrous golden tan with steel brown and light olive toning on the highpoints. Peeps of faded mint color are visible on both sides. This cent has solid mint state eye appeal but there is a hint of rub on the very highest points of the devices. The only marks are a faint hairline scratch close before the brow, a pair of hairline scratches left of the C in CENT, and a very shallow scuff at the right bottom of the E in ONE. MDS. Most of the inner circle at the dentil tips from star 12 clockwise to star 7 is gone, but remnants remain at stars 1-4. A very nice example of the variety, tied for CC#5 honors in the Noyes census. Our grade is AU58. Only two are known in mint state by EAC standards, and one of those is in the ANS Collection. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
