Lustrous chocolate and bluish steel brown with underlying very faded red on the reverse (possibly from an old cleaning). The surfaces are smooth and the fields are slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die lapping. MDS with the inner circle dull but visible at stars 2-6 and the repunching at the base of the T in CENT sharp. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die lapping and the reverse is rotated 30 degrees CCW. Called AU55 and tied for CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU50 and tied for CC#2, his photo #20684. Our grade is AU55. A nice cent that is in the condition census for the variety. The attribution and Holmes provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
