1818 N-5 R3 PCGS graded MS61 Brown

Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate with frosty lighter brown in protected areas. Smooth and very attractive. Looks mint state but there is a trace of friction on the highpoints. Just a few trivial marks including two tiny ticks in the field off the end of the nose and a dull nick on the rim over the C in AMERICA. LDS. The die cracks on the obverse are strong and the extension down from star 1 to the dentils is clear. Our grade is AU50. A very attractive condition census example of a variety that is unknown in mint state condition by EAC grading standards. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
