1818 N-3 R3 PCGS graded MS62 BrownGlossy steel brown and chocolate with frosty golden light brown in the protected areas plus hints of very faded mint color on the obverse. The fields and protected areas are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. Looks mint state but the highpoints show a touch of very light friction. The only notable marks are a few tiny ticks on the cheek and in the field off the chin, plus a few swipes of darker brown toning at ED and STA. Sharply struck EDS+, die state a. A strong spike extends up from the top of the coronet and a few small lumps show in the field before the face. Struck with the reverse rotated 70 degrees CCW relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Graded AU55 in the Bland census. Noyes photo #37276. Our grade is AU50.Certificate Number: 36607.62/15114868Pedigree: Ex David Bullowa (Coinhunter) 4/1959-Darwin B. Palmer, Jr.-Dr. Robert J. Shalowitz-Myles Z. Gerson (via Denis W. Loring) 2/1973-R. S.
