1818 N-2 R4+ PCGS graded MS63 BrownLustrous bluish steel brown and light olive. A beautiful, satiny cent that looks mint state, but there is a rather strong vertical nick in the field off the chin, and this mark catches your eye. Otherwise there are just a few trivial marks including a tiny planchet chip at the bottom of the neck, a light nick in the field over the N in ONE, and a small planchet chip left of that O. E-MDS, die state c. In addition to the always-present fine die cracks through the top of UNITED ST and another through the bottom of STAT, there is a fine die crack joining stars 4 & 5 and a thin radial die crack from the right center of the T in UNITED to the dentils above. Sharply struck everywhere except the forelock and first 2 stars, which are a bit weak (as usual). The fields are smooth and slightly reflective suggesting the fine die cracks occurred very early in this die marriage Called AU50 and tied for CC#2 in the Bland census. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
