Frosty medium steel brown and light chocolate with peeps of lighter steel brown faded down from mint color in some of the protected areas, particularly around MERICA. The toning on the obverse is faintly mottled between the lighter and darker tones. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only mark is a very light vertical scratch in the field above star 2, and you wouldn't notice it if it did not lighten the toning. LDS with all the die cracks and rim cuds mentioned by Wright in his reference on the cents of 1816-1839. The "Mouse Break" resting on top of the head below star 8 is strong. A very nice example of this popular "Mouse Top" variety. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
