1817 N-3 R2 PCGS graded MS64 BrownLustrous faded red mellowing to bluish steel brown with nearly half the planchet showing mellowed red. There are several small spots of bluish steel toning sprinkled over the obverse, the largest of these at the curl under the hair bun. The only notable mark is a tiny, barely visible planchet flake or tick just right of the F in OF. MDS, die state b, with a small "Peeking Mouse" break resting on the top of the head under the left side of star 8, the precursor to the full "Mouse" break that occurs soon after. Called MS60 and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, his photo #21442. Bland says AU55.
