Frosty light bluish steel brown with hints of sea-green overtone. A few small puffs of darker steel brown toning show on the obverse and peeps of faded red can be found on the reverse. Just a light touch of friction on the highest points and a few light contact marks. A fine scratch from star 1 to the throat and a pair of very tiny rim nicks under the end of the wreath ribbon are the only notable marks. E-MDS, Grellman state b early. The fields are flowlined and the "Mouse" break on top of the head under star 8 is just starting to form. A very shallow break (flattened snake) rests on top of the head where the mouse is forming, and the rounded rump of the mouse close to the hair bun is a slightly sunken depression at this point. The mouse didn't appear all at once--it developed slowly. An interesting intermediate die state that is visible only on sharp examples.
