Frosty medium chocolate brown with some lighter brown toning on the left side of the obverse. Flowline luster shows in protected areas on both sides and this cent has very nice eye appeal. The only defects are a few areas of extremely faint roughness including one under star 8, another at star 11, and a small one just right of the 7 in the date (but it takes a strong glass to see any of it). MDS with the right top of the first T in STATES clearly raised due to advanced die cracks in that area, but there is no radial die crack up from the top of that E. The bisecting die crack across the reverse is clear. An important example of this tough die variety; the finest grades only EF45 by EAC standards. Our grade is EF40. The attribution and Neiswinter provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
