Lustrous light olive brown and bluish steel with generous traces of mellowed mint red visible on both sides. The toning is a bit mottled on the obverse but the surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is excellent. The best identifying mark is a tiny tick off the upper left point of star 6, and it is barely visible. M-LDS. The dash between the C and A in AMERICA is weak but still visible and the lump under the first 1 is gone. The dentils over the second A in AMERICA are weakly struck. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #28654. Called MS61 by Del Bland. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
