1816 N-2 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC ApprovedHighly lustrous light olive and steel brown. The surfaces are satiny and choice, and this cent has great eye appeal A nick over star 12 and a spot of different toning under the C in CENT are the best identifying marks. MDS, die state b, with the usual rim cud breaks between stars 8-11. Nicely struck for this variety. The hair at the forehead is nearly full, which is quite unusual. Ted Naftzger noted on his collection envelope (which accompanies the lot) "The best struck N2 seen." Called MS63 and tied for CC#1 with several others in the Noyes census, his photo #21379. Our grade is MS63.Certificate Number: 36526.64/13079737Pedigree: Ex Henry C. Hines-Dr. William H. Sheldon-C. Douglas Smith 3/1982-R. E.
