Lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown on the highpoints with nearly half the original mint color remaining, mostly on the reverse. The only significant mark is a small spot of very fine carbon at the dentils over the E in AMERICA. Rather well struck for this variety with minor weakness on the bust and the opposing leaves at the top of the wreath. MDS; the repunching on the 6 is clear and the reverse is rotated 40 degrees clockwise. Most likely from the hoard of mint state pieces of the variety discovered in 1906--now widely disbursed. Our grade is MS64.
