Date: 1804Frosty chocolate brown and steel with peeps of lighter steel brown in protected areas. Slightly dull from a thin coat of natural oxidation; easily remedied by a proper brushing. Nicely struck with light wear on the devices. The only notable defect is a very shallow planchet flake on the shoulder, as struck and visible only under magnification. Very rare M-LDS, Manley state 6.0, Fuhrman state 7, with a strong cud break at OF-A that touches the O. This is the Manley state coin for the die state in his 1998 reference The Half Cent Die State Book 1793-1857. Our grade is EF40 net VF35. The Spiked Chin feature is noted on the PCGS label.1075.40/20278155Ex Roger S. Cohen, Jr., Superior 2/2/1992:177-Doug Roether-Bruce Hickmott-Thomas D.
