Slightly sharper but covered with fine roughness. No verdigris but there are a half dozen fine scratches on the obverse and a couple more on the reverse. Slightly glossy mix of medium steel brown, chocolate, and olive brown. Probably lightly cleaned and retoned. The left half of both sides is weakly struck, as always on the variety but especially pronounced in the late die state. LDS, Manley state 3.0, with a strong cud break connecting ERTY to the rim. The reverse is rotated about 30 degrees clockwise from the normal head-to-foot die orientation. The date is weak but readable and most of the legends are clear. The Missouri Cabinet example of the variety with the cud break was a cleaned and damaged net G4+ that brought $12,075 (McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 1/24/2014:61), and the corroded net G6 example in the Davy Collection Sale (McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 9/4/2011:210) brought $32,200. A rare variety in any die state but especially difficult to find nice in the late die state.
