1803 S-264 R4+ Large Date, Small Fraction, PCGS Fine Detail, Altered SurfaceA few points sharper with extremely faint roughness hidden under glossy olive brown and chocolate toning. No verdigris, just a few small marks including three tiny chips or small digs in the field behind the portrait and another at the edge over ER in LIBERTY. E-MDS, Breen state II, with swelling at STA but before the triangular breaks at the top leaves. The date and legends are complete and clear and the eye appeal of this cent is nice in spite of the imperfect surfaces. Graded F12 net G6 and tied for CC#27 in the Noyes census, his photo #32563. Our grade is F12 net VG8+. A decent example of this popular "Redbook" variety.Certificate Number: 36410.94.52084642Pedigree: From the Fred H. Borcherdt Collection
