Sharpness EF40 with fine roughness in the fields before and above the portrait with similar roughness at ED-ST. There are a couple microscopic specks of greenish verdigris at ED-ST, a scratch at the dentils over that E, and a dull nick low on the neck. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with reddish brown tones in the roughened areas. Rare E-MDS, Breen state II, with sharp die clashmarks on the obverse but no die crack up from the bust. Called net VF25 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #39160. Bland says EF40 net VF25 and tied for CC#7. Ex G. Maroskos-J. A. Obey-Thomas D.
