Frosty tan and light steel brown with darker steel toning on the highpoints. Traces of golden light tan faded down from mint color show in protected areas, mostly on the reverse. There is a small stain of darker brown at LI and another larger one in the wreath under CE in CENT. The only notable contact mark is a tiny dig under the L in LIBERTY. Sharply struck MDS, Breen state IV, with die cracks on the obverse and clashmarks on the reverse. Graded EF45 net EF40 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #60504. Our grade is EF45. Removed from a PCGS holder graded AU55 (PCGS label #1470.55/11380004 included). The attribution and Mervis Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. 2038619-040 Ex Adam Mervis, Heritage Auctions 1/10/2010:2784
