Date: 1802Ten points sharper but there are a couple patches of fine roughness on the reverse: one over the N in ONE and another at NITE. Otherwise mostly smooth with minor marks. Two light, parallel nicks in the hair left of the forehead and a tiny rim bruise at the E in AMERICA are the notable marks. Glossy reddish brown and dark steel. MDS, Breen state III early, with clashmarks on the obverse and cracks on the reverse. A nice if imperfect cent that comes with a great provenance that has been traced back over a century.Ex Howard R.
