Slightly sharper but there is a nick on the T in LIBERTY and a few more dull ones on the upper part of the bust. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with tan and light brown in the fields and protected areas. The mint frost on the reverse suggests an even higher grade. The bust is softly struck as are the opposing leaves at the right top of the wreath, as often seen on this variety, but the rest of the devices are nicely struck. E-MDS, Breen state II, with a narrow rim cud over IB in LIBERTY and the usual axial die misalignment that caused strike weakness at the bust (as described by Breen for this die state). Graded AU50 net EF40 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #27737. Bland says EF40 and tied for CC#10. Comes with a nice provenance.Ex Homer K.
