1801 S-213 R2 PCGS graded AU58, CAC ApprovedFrosty light to medium chocolate brown and steel with lustrous lighter steel brown and tan toning in protected areas. Slightly darker steel brown toning shows on the highpoints. No spots or stains, only a few trivial contact marks. The best identifying marks are a shallow nick-like planchet void in the field over the hair ribbon and a dull horizontal nick nestled between the E in STATES and the dentils above. Nicely struck MDS, Breen state IV. There is a die crack through ICA to the denominator and sharp die clashmarks from the U to the denominator. The earlier die cracks on both sides and the lumps in the field left of the hair ribbon are clear. A very nice example of this variety. Graded EF40 and CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #29467. Bland says EF45 and tied for CC#2 among the confirmed examples in his census. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
