1800 S-210 R5+ PCGS AU Detail, CleanedVery attractive frosty light olive brown and chocolate. A sharp cent with just a light touch of friction on the highpoints, but there are microscopic horizontal hairlines on the portrait. The strike is a bit uneven due to the die faces being out of perfect axial alignment (the die faces not perfectly parallel). As a result the bottom of the obverse and top of the reverse are softly struck while everything else is strong. The notable marks are a few light scratches at the shoulder and lowest curl, a tick on the rim let of the L, and a small planchet chip hidden in the hair left of the neck (as struck). E-MDS, Breen state III, with very strong die clashmarks from RICA at the Y and clockwise to before the nose. The narrow rim cud from the fraction to the adjacent A is strong. This is the Noyes plate coin for the variety in his 1991 reference. Graded AU55 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says AU55 net EF45 and tied for CC#1, his photo #20524. Our grade is EF45 sharpness net EF40. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
