1800 S-209 R3 PCGS AU Detail, Altered SurfacesChoice glossy chocolate and olive brown with slightly lighter brown in protected areas. Hints of mint frost show in protected areas and this cent has great eye appeal. Smooth with light wear on the devices and trivial marks. The notable marks are a tiny rim bruise at the Y, a small tick (might be a planchet flake) on the cheek, and another light rim bruise at the second S in STATES. MDS, Breen state V, with die clashmarks on both sides. There is a double profile on the upper lip and bottom edge of the jaw (from die shift or "machine doubling)." Graded EF40 and tied for CC#7 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net EF40 and tied for CC#4, his photo #25870. Our grade is EF40+. "Altered Surfaces"? You decide. Our grade is EF40+.
