1800 S-199 R5+ PCGS graded XF45Choice glossy light to medium chocolate brown with frost in protected areas. Smooth with light wear and trivial marks. The eye appeal of this cent is superb; you just can't find circulated 1800 cents that look this good. The only marks are a few trivial ticks in the field off the hair ribbon. E-MDS, Breen state III, with clashmarks on both sides and a die crack at ED. Struck slightly off center affecting only the dentils. Graded VF35 and CC#2 behind the ANS example in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 Choice and tied for CC#2 behind that same ANS piece, his photo #21851. Our grade is VF35. This is the plate coin for the die variety in the 1991 Noyes reference. This is not the most valuable cent in the Borcherdt Collection, but it is one of the most impressive.Certificate Number: 36185.45/61275962Pedigree: Ex J. H. Wright-W. B.
