Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and very attractive, nearly flawless with just light wear on the devices. The only notable marks are a trail of small, dull ticks below the F in OF. Rare terminal die state (TDS), Breen state VIII late, with a clearly defined rim cud break at IC in AMERICA. The cud break is slightly larger on this example than on the preceding one. All the die cracks and clashmarks described by Breen are clear and the reverse is rotated 20 degrees CCW. The crack down through the hair is quite strong. A great die state that comes with a very nice provenance. Graded VF30 and tied for CC#8 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF25 net VF20 and tied for CC#20 overall but CC#2 of the terminal die state. Our grade is VF35. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
