Choice glossy chocolate brown and lighter steel brown with frosty light golden brown and tan faded down from mint color in protected areas on the reverse. The only defect is a small planchet void at the top of the E in LIBERTY, as struck. M-LDS, Breen state IV, with three small but well-defined rim cud breaks at TA in STATES. Struck with the reverse rotated 30 degrees CCW from the normal head-to-foot die orientation. A very attractive example of an otherwise common die variety. Graded VF35 and tied for CC#20 in the Noyes census, his photo #39323. Our grade is EF40+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 36068.45/15699493 Ex McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 9/2004:373-David Johnson, 2008 EAC Sale, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 5/10/2008:304
