1798 S-164 R4 Style I Hair, Small 8, PCGS graded XF45Very attractive glossy medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Smooth with light wear and great eye appeal. The hair details are sharp and the only notable mark is a fine, very light scratch in the field right of the Y in LIBERTY. Otherwise just a few trivial ticks on the cheek and in the fields plus traces of soft dirt in protected areas on the reverse. E-MDS, Breen state II early. There is a tiny bulge off the end of the bust but there is no hint of a bulge at the 8. The edge of the planchet shows some diagonal reeding, a feature sometimes found on this variety. Graded EF40 and tied for CC#9 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF25 and tied for CC#11, his photo #27320. Our grade is VF35.Certificate Number: 36056.45/61275942Pedigree: Ex George F.
