1798 S-160 R3 Style I Hair, Small 8, PCGS graded AU55Medium brown and light olive with mint frost in the fields and protected areas on the reverse. The obverse fields are hard and rather reflective, and this cent has really nice eye appeal. The only marks are a small spot of darker olive brown toning (not carbon) in the hair left of the earlobe, a couple ticks in the field off the brow, and a collection of very shallow low spots at the ear and around ONE (caused by lubricant and dirt on the die). M-LDS, Breen state III, with clashmarks from the dentils at the end of the bust. Graded EF45 and CC#3 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net VF35 and CC#4, his photo #39047. Our grade is EF45. A great cent that has a rather complicated history.Certificate Number: 36044.55/61275940Pedigree: Ex Charles Green (R. Green)-T. James Clarke 1950-Dr. William H.
