Sharpness near EF40 but there are some marks on both sides. The notable marks are a diagonal line of nicks or chips left of the curls, a planchet void at the dentils right of the D in UNITED, and at least a half dozen rim nicks on each side. Otherwise the surfaces are smooth, even choice, and the toning is a very attractive glossy mix of medium brown and light chocolate. EDS, Breen state I, with a linear wave but no die crack left of the curls and no trace of die rust at RICA. The overdate feature is strong. Graded VF35 net VF20 by Noyes, his photo #38985. A nice example of this "Redbook" variety in spite of the marks.

2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lot viewing due to COVID-19 not available for this auction.
8. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to kevin@indeetlib.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. Bidding will proceed as competition dictates with the lot either selling to the floor or to the mail/web bidder at one increment above the second highest bid. Please see contact information below.
9. Consignors may bid or place a reserve bid on their own coins. Principals of the auction firm may consign and may bid on coins in the sale for themselves or clients.
