1798/7 S-150 R5 Overdate Small 8 over 7 VF25Very attractive glossy light chocolate brown. Smooth with light wear and great eye appeal. Would rate a slightly higher grade if not for a couple light rim bruises on the reverse: one at TE in STATES and another at the first A in AMERICA. The only other marks are a dull rim nick at the I in UNITED and some extremely faint horizontal hairlines on the cheek and neck. LDS, Breen state IV, with die cracks and swelling on the reverse. The overdate feature is quite bold. Graded VF30 net VF20 and the for CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF25 and tied for CC#3, his photo #26789. This cent is plated in the 1879 Frossard monograph on US cents and half cents.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex (probably) Edouard Frossard 1879-unknown-Joseph Levine-George Ramont 5/18/1993-R. S.
