1797 S-137 R2 PCGS graded AU53Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with puffs of reddish brown on the obverse. There are microscopic traces of verdigris in some of the protected areas on the obverse, mostly in those reddish areas. Otherwise choice and well struck (which is a rarity for this variety). The only contact mark is a very small nick or struck-through line high on the neck. MDS, Breen state IV, with die clashmarks on both sides and a few die cracks on the reverse. Graded VF35 and tied for CC#8 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net VF35 and tied for CC#5, his photo #26323. Our grade is VF35. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. Bidding will proceed as competition dictates with the lot either selling to the floor or to the mail/web bidder at one increment above the second highest bid. 9. Consignors may bid or place a reserve bid on their own coins. Principals of the auction firm may consign and may bid on coins in the sale for themselves or clients.
