1796 S-114 R5- Draped Bust VF35Glossy light brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. This cent was lightly cleaned and has retoned nicely. Smooth with very light wear on the devices and trivial marks including a speck of darker toning in the field below the L in LIBERTY and two very light nicks left of the upper end of the hair ribbon. Nicely struck EDS, Breen state I, with an uncracked obverse and hard, slightly reflective fields on that side. Graded EF45 net VF35 and CC#3 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net VF30 and CC#3, his photo #24084. One of the two finer pieces resides in the ANS Collection, so there isn't much room for improvement on this variety.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex J. V. McDermott 1959-Emanuel Taylor 10/1960-R. E.
