Considerably sharper, perhaps VF30 or slightly better, but there is an old, irregular diagonal scratch from the hair right of the ribbon down into the bust above the 6. The surfaces are decent but not perfectly smooth; the only noticeable roughness is a small patch of fine granularity at the rim below the 1 in the date. Rather glossy chocolate brown with lighter brown toning on the devices. EDS, Breen state II, before any die cracks. Fine doubling is visible on the date, LIBE, and the ribbons. Graded EF40 net VF20 by Bland and tied for CC#7 in his census. An imperfect but certainly decent example of this tough variety.Acquired unattributed on 2/28/1992 by Jim McGuigan-Chris McCawley-Sam Nacol Collection-Nacol Estate
