Glossy light chocolate brown. Mostly smooth and void of verdigris. The only notable marks are a scratch left of the bottom of the cap and a shallow flake on the jaw. The date is clear and the legends are readable. A very nice electrotype copy that could pass as original if not for a small, intentionally made chip on the edge that exposed some of the underlying base metal. Most likely a copy of the famous Brobston example sold by Stack's in January 1963. Several copies were made and one of those copies was sold as genuine in the 1992 auction of the Roger S. Cohen, Jr. Collection (Superior 2/2/1992:66). It's that deceptive! A great hole-filler.
