Date: 1794Sharpness near F12 but there are small pits and areas of roughness on both sides. An obvious larger pit between the tops of the E & R in LIBERTY and a patch of minor pitting left of the lower curls are the most-obvious defects. No verdigris but there are some small contact marks, especially at the wreath ribbon. The obverse is sharper than the reverse, as always on well-circulated examples of the variety. Medium steel brown with reddish chocolate in protected areas on both sides, especially on the reverse. The date is clear and the legends are nearly complete. MDS. The shoulder loop above the 79 is partial thanks to die polishing but the obverse is uncracked.Ex Thomas D. Reynolds-Erik Schneckloth Collection (includes the Reynolds sales envelope)
