1794 S-46 R3 Head of 1794 PCGS graded MS62 BrownGlossy chocolate brown with lighter brown in the fields and protected areas and darker steel brown on the highpoints. Smooth and very attractive, just a few marks from choice. A small nick in the field off the end of the nose and a planchet flake on the second A in AMERICA (as struck), are the only notable defects. E-MDS, Breen state II early, Heck state 1, with a die crack up through the bust, neck, and hair to the base of the B. There is no crack along the truncation. Graded EF45 and tied for CC#6 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net EF40 and tied for CC#5, his photo #31976. Our grade is EF40+, close to EF45. A very nice cent and it comes with a equally nice provenance.Certificate Number: 35603.62/57538490Pedigree: Ex George L. Davis, Stack's 4/1954:1580-Dorothy I. Paschal-Dr. Edward R. Bush-Myles Z.
