Choice glossy medium brown and very light chocolate. The planchet is smooth and the surfaces are nearly flawless. The only notable defects are a faint, very fine hairline scratch on the cap and a thin planchet fissure just right of the Y (as struck). M-LDS, Breen state VII. The die cracks on the reverse are very strong and swelling has nearly obliterated CE in CENT. A very attractive cent in a neat die state. Our grade is F15. The attribution and Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.Ex Bowers & Merena 8/3/1983:248-Jay Szerencsy, 2002 EAC Sale, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 4/20/2002:123-March Wells, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/1/2009:508-Chuck Heck Collection, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/12/2017:257-Nancy & Bryan (Yamasaki) Collection, Goldbergs 2/16/2020:298 (includes the Szerencsy, Wells, and Heck collection envelopes and 4 lot tickets)
