Date: 1794Partly glossy olive brown and steel. Unevenly struck with weakness on the lower obverse and upper reverse. The details on the portrait are consistent with a slightly higher grade, but the lower part of the date and the legends on the upper part of the reverse are weak or missing. The surfaces are decent but not perfectly smooth with a mix of microscopic roughness and tiny contact marks, mostly on the obverse. The best identifying mark is a small planchet chip in the wreath left of the top of the C in CENT. The edge lettering is strong but blundered reading ONEONE HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR. The downturned leaf following DOLLAR is bold. Removed from an ANACS holder graded G4 (ANACS label # 2452770 included, and it mentions the attribution and "BLUNDERED EDGE LETTERS").Ex Michael Iatesta, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 9/19/2005:261-Douglas F.
