Date: 1794Glossy medium brown with some lighter brown around the portrait. Smooth with minor contact marks. There are some nicks on the neck, one more under the Y, a light scratch on the E in LIBERTY, and a collection of microscopic hairlines over the 1 in the date. Only the nicks are visible to the unaided eye. The reverse is nearly flawless. Very rare EDS, Manley state 1.0, Fuhrman state 1, with die clashmarks but no hint of a crack to the second T in STATES. Graded VF20 by Noyes, his photo #89021. Our grade is net VF20+. A very nice example of this tough variety, and it comes with a nice provenance.1003.35/25311946Ex Richard Picker 8/1/1957-The Norweb Family Collection, Bowers & Merena 10/12/1987:11 (as VF30+)-Gene Braig 8/24/2004
